  • Also (last note), I'm strongly against Entitlements for those who are able to work, but don't try. The billions of dollars that are poured into Entitlement programs can be better spent, or returned to the tax-payer, so that the individual can decide how to spend that extra money.

  • DHNC, you partly misunderstood my statement. I do intend to become a doctor, but not primarily for the monetary compensation; it's actually the seconday reason. I love science and learning. However, why would it be wrong if a competent doctor chose the profession primarily for the money?

  • I can empathize with you to an extent. I'm from S. Korea, which was run by a despotic military ruler until 1987 (bet not a lot of people know this), and it was not as prosperous as it is today, but even poor citizens never demanded handouts, and still don't.
